Updated Itinerary

April 11 / Wednesday
  • Check in at 7:30 p.m., HHS Door 5, Get boarding pass from trip coordinator
  • Buses arrive at HHS 8:30 p.m.; depart 9:00 p.m.
  • Bring DVDs and/or VHS videos for the ride
  • Pass out neck wallets, explain policies
  • Rest stop en route
   April 12 / Thursday
  • Breakfast stop en route Matthew’s Cafeteria in Tucker, Georgia
  • Arrive at Stone Mountain Park around 10:30 a.m.; arrive at Aquarium at 11:30  a.m.
  • Stone Mountain Park group: Park opens at 10 a.m.  Enjoy the park in groups; lunch in the park; meet chaperones at prescribed location at 3:00 p.m. to take MARTA to hotel.  Try to arrive at 4:30 or 4:45 to expedite check-in (get keys, etc.)
  • Aquarium group: Entry window is from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.  Enjoy the Aquarium in small groups; lunch at the Aquarium food court; meet chaperones at prescribed location at 3:00 p.m. Walk in groups with chaperone to Underground Atlanta and/or the World of Coca Cola (if test group tour is available).  At 4:30, take MARTA to hotel
  • Check into hotel at 5:00; dinner in rehearsal room at 6 p.m.
  • Rehearsals
    ─ CO 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.
    ─ SO 7:30 to 8:30 p.m.
    ─ Guitar 8:30 to 9:30 p.m.
  • While not rehearsing, enjoy the hotel facilities (pool, whirlpool, fitness room)
  • Curfew 10:30 p.m.
April 13 / Friday
  • Buffet breakfast at the hotel: 7:00 to 7:45 a.m.  Come down showered and ready for the day except for changing into performance attire
  • Change into performance attire and meet your chaperone in lobby by 8:00 a.m.  Bring a change of clothes and your instrument
  • Depart hotel 8:15 a.m.
  • Arrive at Woodruff Arts Center at 9:00 a.m.
  • SO and Guitar photos at 11:10 a.m.; CO photos at 12:20 p.m.
  • Change out of performance attire and have lunch at food court near Woodruff Arts Center 1:00 p.m.
  • Visit Martin Luther King Memorial and/or World of Coca Cola (if test group tour is available)
  • Return to hotel at 4:00 p.m. to get ready for dinner and Symphony
  • Depart for dinner at 4:45 and 5:00 p.m. (to arrive in shifts); dinner at the Olde Mill Steakhouse from 5:15 to 7 p.m.
  • Depart for Symphony at 7; arrive at Woodruff Arts Center 7:30 p.m.
  • 8:00 to 10 p.m.: Atlanta Symphony Orchestra
  • 10 p.m.: Return to hotel
  • Curfew 11:30 p.m..
   April 14 / Saturday
  • Buffet breakfast at the hotel: 7:30 to 8:30 a.m.  Come down dressed for the day and ready to go
  • Check out of hotel: 9:00 a.m.; depart hotel 9:30 a.m.
  • 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.: Six Flags Over Georgia.  Enjoy the park in small groups; All you can eat picnic lunch at Peachtree Pavilion from 12-1 p.m., followed by awards ceremony from 1 to 2 p.m.
  • Distribute dinner vouchers ($10 cash to each student) after awards ceremony.
  • 4:30 p.m.: Meet chaperones at bus
  • 5:00 p.m.: Depart for home.  Stop for supper enroute.
April 15 / Sunday
  • Rest stop en route
  • Approximate arrival at HHS – 5:30 a.m.
