The Herndon High Symphonic String Orchestra is comprised of advanced string orchestra students at Herndon High School.

2007-2008 Herndon High Symphonic String Orchestra

The symphonic string orchestra is augmented by members of the Herndon High Band's renowned Wind Ensemble to perform as a full symphony orchestra. The symphony plays grade VI pieces-usually original arrangements by the composer.

During the 2007-2008 school year, symphonic string orchestra meets on alternating (black) days during second period in the orchestra room.

The symphony orchestra practices after school in the weeks prior to the winter, festival and spring concerts.

Members of the symphonic string orchestra comprise the Hornet Chamber Ensemble that perform at school and outside events. The orchestra for the spring musical is also drawn from members of symphonic string orchestra and wind ensemble.
