Letter from the Director
OK! HERE WE GO! As the 08-09 season begins, I can hardly believe that this is already my 4th year at Herndon HS! I reflect on past accomplishments and look forward to even more success for the orchestras. This year we are incorporating some fresh ideas to enhance playing technique and collaboration within the Herndon Pyramid orchestra program. The Spring Trip to Nashville is beginning to take shape! Fundraising is already underway (Tag Day, Car Wash) to help students defray the expense. We are also looking forward to collaborating, once again, with our good friends in the community as well as those traditional tasty fund-raising projects including cookie dough, pretzels and cheesecakes – YUM! VOLUNTEERING IS KEY TO A SUCCESSFUL YEAR! I am convinced that strong parental involvement is the secret to maintaining a successful and quality orchestra program. I invite and encourage ALL parents of our orchestra students to lend your valuable time by volunteering your unique talents and organizational skills. HHS Orchestras program needs YOU! Your support and contribution of time is significant and absolutely makes a difference to the students! Please let us know how you can help!! Be a part of the team! Thank you for all that you do for your students and for the Orchestras at Herndon HS! Best Wishes for a great year! Mark your calendars for some very important up-coming dates:
Parents, I look forward to seeing you at Back to School Night on Thursday, September 18th at 6:00 p.m. I am excited about the possibilities for ‘08-’09 and hope that together we can make it one of the best musical years ever! Sincerely, |
